IF SEX IS A SIN

IF SEX IS SIN

All is vain except love and coitus is the culmination of it…

If sex is sin against my flesh, let me burn in hell
If drugs will destroy my soul, let me be hollow
Ignorance makes life hard, knowledge makes it no easier
Knowledge of life’s many harsh truths will make you sad
A better man,
you might become but never happier than the day you were born
You love truly and deeply and out loud-
It can be heard over the hills-
but you don’t love properly
So you can’t be loved truly
And Love is funny
When it’s not a feeling, it’s a commodity
You dig in the trenches for gold
Those nights are lonely and cold
Now that you have plenty of gold, you will find someone to hold
So those nights are worth it
But you forget
It’s just temporary

Every now and every then
I remind myself of stories they used to tell
Of how life is better beyond the horizon Beyond the sea
Every night
At sunset I stare at it, I await the Moon too cos it brings me peace
Oh! How little of life I’ve lived
Felt all of the pain but none of the pleasure within
Living through poetry, sharing my gift for free
So I say it again
If sex is sin against my flesh, take me to hell
I know pain, Lucifer’s taunts can’t hurt me again
I’ve seen it all, the joys, the hopes
And sacrifices to gods
All is in vain-
All is vain except love and coitus is the culmination of it
As I live
Heartbeat after heartbeat and deprive myself of it
What’s the point?
