LOOKING TO THE FUTURE OF THE POEMIFY PUBLISHING INC.

A lot has happened since we arrived 2020 in January, so we want to take a moment to share some of the impact you’ve had, the hard work we’ve seen from you, and what we’re excited to bring you in the new year.

As 2020 draws to a close, we’re taking some time to pause and reflect on a year that has been strange and challenging in a myriad of ways. From us at Poemify surviving two heartbreaking hack attempts to collective backdrop of remote work and online schooling amidst a global pandemic– COVID-19, to civic unrest, Black Lives Matters protest, #EndSARS protest, and recessions in most countries, the word “normal” was rendered irrelevant this year.

Regardless of all this, many of you still found time to join us in writing for Poemify blog, submitting poems, stories, reviews and opinions for Poemify Magazine, and signing book publishing contracs. For that, we are deeply grateful your dedication, loyalty, passion, feedback, support, and innovation continues to humble and motivate us to better serve you in amplifying African literature.

LOOKING BACK ON WRITERS/AUTHORS WHO INSPIRED US IN 2020

We’ve dug deeply with many of you this year, meeting with and learning directly from our community of writers, published authors, and business partners. We’ve seen a lot of inspiring art, and we want to share some highlights.

Firstly, we deeply appreciate our teammates at Poemify – Oluchi Anyatonwu, Uchendu Njionye, Kudabo Victory, Chikwe Fortune, Lois Nwobodo, William Anyatonwu, Íwú Jeff and Maxwell Opia-Enwemuche. It wasn’t a rosey year, yet your best was seen and felt in many ways we can’t repay. Thank you.

Shout out to all active guest authors on Poemify blog. Your poems and stories kept Poemify on the lead rung of African literary community in the blogosphere. ‘Thank you’ is not enough.

Thousands of you read blog posts, downloaded books, gave feedbacks and also shared Poemify with friends and family. Your deeds were felt and deeply appreciated.

May I also use this medium to appreciate all new authors that were initiated to Poemify Publishers authors family this year. Thanks for choosing Poemify.

LOOKING AHEAD, HERE’S WHAT WE’RE MOST EXCITED ABOUT BRINGING YOU NEXT YEAR:

eLearning Platform for Creatives:

Next year, 2021, we’ll be launching our eLearning platform where you can learn all there is about creative writing, art and expression. We are excited and can’t wait to go live. Anticipate.

Rebranded Poetry Prizes:

Our mission at Poemify is to continuously seek ways to amplify the voices of young African writers. So far, we’ve been able to achieve that. We hope to do more. Come 2021, we would be introducing poetry prizes for unpublished African poets. Get your best poems and manuscripts ready!

Cheaper Publishing Deals:

Our goal is to support even more writers, so we are building a solution tailored for publishing needs.

We’ll share more details about the publishing packages in early 2021.

PARTING WORDS FOR 2020

Your commitment and sense of community never fails to inspire our teams. We’re so glad to have you join us in this journey, and can’t wait to see what you build next.

As we wrap up an unusual and challenging year, we want to wish our writers community a happy and healthy holiday season! May you find joy.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
