THE SUN

THREE POEMS BY UMMILO

TWO POEMS BY UMMILO
  1. ANXIETY

It came like a wave of dust

    Blocking the footprint of happiness

Leaving me in a desert of pain

    Worried that darkness will consume

    My soul to neverland

    The home of no return

  2. BED OF SORROW

So let me lay in my bed of sorrow

    Uche Njie

    For my fragile soul

Refuses to embrace the loneliness in my heart

Let me sing to voices of the mountain

As I dance to the colors of the wind

Perhaps my peace lays beneath the eyes

So let me lay in bed of roses

A bed filled with thorns of pain

  3. MY FINAL APPEAL

    Whisper those soft loving words

    As you lay me down

While you sail my ship into the river of life

    Weep not my absence

For my domicile awaits my presence

    Supplicate for my peace

For this is my final appeal

As heaven takes it’s awaited soul

    While the ears embrace condolences
