I’ve seen the saddest tears
in my father’s numbing eyes.
how he wears the burden;
of–
blood, sweat and tears
on his shoulders,
and carries it like an ornament,
parading himself in oversized shoe;
not in style, but as men without cries,
and in whirlpool of the sea,
his footstep stands gigantic
like a roaring lion.

I’ve also seen my father’s tears
bottled in silence, and days
his drained face groans for sleep,
yet, he submerge his pains
and jump through hoops;
not in style, but as men without cries.

I’ve seen the saddest tears
in my father’s numbing eyes,
flaring in his sobbing heart;
for when men cry, they cry pain
that do not reflect,
on faces they wear.
